There are chances of US entering a New Era of Divided Government

The Biden administration may have to work within a split government as it tries to manage the approximately three-year pandemic, administer and fund the government, and implement its policy initiatives after two years of the Democrats holding the House, Senate, and White House.

The Senate is still controlled by Democrats, while the House is controlled by Republicans. Due to state regulations on ballot counting and the increase in vote-by-mail voting, it could take days or weeks before the official results are announced.

The Biden administration will probably face more inquiries, challenges with government financing, and potential impeachment proceedings while Republicans control the House.

Under the future leadership of Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., currently, the committee’s ranking member, the primary House investigative committee, the House Oversight and Reform Committee, plans to investigate the border policy, Biden family members, and the beginnings of COVID. Comer says that he won’t mislead Americans and everything will be factual and credible.

Republicans have stated their intention to keep assaulting President Biden and his family to gain quick political points and divert attention from the extreme, unpopular agenda that most Americans oppose.

A report by the Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee, released last Friday, alleges extensive politicization of the FBI and Justice Department under President Biden. This report could be another expected guide for investigations. This comes after a flurry of criticism and threats against FBI employees following the agency’s execution of a search warrant at the Mar-a-Lago estate belonging to the late President Trump.

Earlier in October, it was reported that without any regard for politics, FBI employees devote their lives to defending the American people from threats such as terrorism, violent crime, cyber threats, and other perils.

After being re-elected, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who may take over as head of the Senate Health, Labor, and Pensions Committee, declared that he would demand all papers from Dr. Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical advisor and the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases advisor. Throughout proceedings, Paul and Fauci have frequently been arguing.

Trump’s press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, prevailed in the Arkansas governor’s election. It is anticipated that Max Miller, a former director of Trump’s presidential campaign, would win an Ohio House seat. And there are many others, as previously described by NBC News. The previous head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, also ran for the Oklahoma Senate seat but lost in the primary.

The White House and Congress must reach an agreement during the lame duck session, among other legislative proposals, to fund the government after the current continuing resolution expires on December 16 and to pass the massive defense policy bill that must be passed.  If the Republican party becomes more powerful, this could be challenging.

Everybody’s attention is now on the 2024 presidential race since the midterm elections are coming to a conclusion. The former president Trump, who is dealing with several legal issues and investigations, is anticipated to make his third run for the presidency official soon.
